When you use ChessEdge, we collect the following information:

• Your Chess.com and/or Lichess username
• Publicly available game data from those platforms (up to 150 rated games across all time controls)
• Your FIDE ID and FIDE rating data (if linked)

How We Use Your Data

We use collected data to compute your chess statistics (ATK, TAC, POS, OPN, END, CLK), determine your playing archetype and Chess Twin, and generate your shareable player card.

Data Storage

Your player card and game data are stored securely in our database. We use standard caching to ensure fast page loads. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

Third-Party Services

ChessEdge integrates with the following third-party services:

• Chess.com and Lichess — to import your game history
• ChessTools — to retrieve FIDE player data

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to third parties. Your player card page is publicly accessible by design — this is a core feature of the platform. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right to Access: You can request a copy of all data we hold about you.
• Right to Erasure: You can request deletion of your account and all associated data.
• Right to Data Portability: You can export your data in a machine-readable format.
• Right to Rectification: You can request correction of inaccurate data we hold about you.

How to Exercise Your Rights

To exercise any of the rights above, contact us at info@chessedge.com or use the account settings within the app. We will respond to your request within 30 days.

Legal Basis for Processing

We process your data based on legitimate interest (providing chess analytics as the core service) and your consent (when you connect your Chess.com or Lichess account). You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.

Data Retention

Player cards are refreshed every 7 days. Game data is cached for analysis purposes. You can delete all your data at any time by contacting us or through your account settings.

Infrastructure & Third-Party Processors

ChessEdge uses the following third-party services to operate the platform. Each processes data according to their own privacy policies:

• Supabase — database and authentication
• Upstash — caching layer
• Anthropic Claude — AI-powered archetype and Chess Twin analysis
• Stripe — payment processing (Pro plan)
• ChessTools — FIDE profile data retrieval
